Sam Trickett is the new winner of the $100,000 Challenge at the 2011 Aussie Millions with a prize of $1,500,000. The tournament field included 37 players, some of them famous names in the poker circuit, and Trickett showed his best poker skills and remained chip leader for most of the event. He has experience playing free poker games.
Though his stack fell to 400,000 when he lost a hand to Tony Bloom, Sam Trickett built his stack back while other famous faces like Erik Seidel, David Beyamine and Jeffrey Lisandro were eliminated. Precisely, it was Tony Bloom he defeated in the heads-up to win the $1,525,000 prize and grow his career earnings to $3 million.
The 2011 Aussie Millions brings more new as the Main Event started on Sunday featuring a rock band, confetti and Joe Hachem who was in charge of shuffling and dealing. Chip leader of the first day was Erick Lindgren who ended the day with 186,000 in chips. Other notable poker players who remain in the game include Patrick Antonius in third place, Phil Ivey in seventh position and Erik Cajelais in ninth place.
A total of 238 poker players made up the field of the Main Event hosted by the Crown Casino and famous names such as Maria Ho, Eli Elezra, Mike Matusow and Erica Schoenberg have been already eliminated. Poker action will resume on Wednesday.
